Find a number that sticks
Search the digits you remember, a word from the keypad, or the exact start and end you have in mind.
Where to look
Choose the part of the number that matters
Anywhere is the usual choice. Switch to Prefix or Ending when the opening or the finish is what you want people to remember.
Anywhere
Look through the whole number. Ideal when you remember a run of digits but not where they sit.
Type 345678
07700 345678
Prefix
Look at the first six digits. Useful when you want a number that opens a certain way.
Type 074444
074444 123456
Ending
Look at the last six digits. Perfect when the ending is the part people should remember.
Type 123456
07700 123456
Multi-part
Pick Multi-part in the menu. Starts, Contains, and Ends are separate boxes, so you never have to type a comma.
Starts
0777
Contains
Leave blank
Ends
9
For example
07770 123459
What to type
A few ways to narrow it down
The same start, middle, and end can be typed in one box with commas. Letters are read like a phone keypad: ABC is 2, DEF is 3, and so on through to WXYZ on 9.
A run of digits
Type the digits you know. We find numbers that contain them.
For example
07700 345678
Type 345678
A word
Type a word and we read it like an old phone keypad. hello becomes 43556.
For example
07700 435561
Type hello
Letters and digits together
Mix them in one search. 777a7 is read as 77727, because A sits on the 2 key.
For example
07000 777270
Type 777a7
Starts with, and includes
A comma splits the start from digits that appear later.
For example
07900 505012
Type 079,5050
Start, middle, and end
Two commas give you three parts: how it starts, what it includes, and how it ends.
For example
07912 505079
Type 079,5050,79
Start and end only
Leave the middle empty when you only care about the opening and the finish.
For example
07700 111999
Type 077,,999
Middle and end
Skip the start with a leading comma when you know the rest.
For example
07947 112229
Type ,47,2229
Just the start
A comma after the digits keeps the search on the beginning of the number.
For example
07444 123456
Type 07444,
Just the middle
A comma before the digits looks for them anywhere, not only at the start.
For example
07111 444400
Type ,4444,
Just the end
Two commas park the digits at the end of the number.
For example
07123 459999
Type ,,9999
